Flash Flood Watch in effect for 10 parishes

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for 10 parishes.

The Meteorological Service says the watch will remain in effect until 8:00 A.M. tomorrow.

The parishes under the watch are: St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester, St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Hanover and St. James.

The trough across the western Caribbean is expected to remain across the region through to Tuesday, resulting in unstable weather conditions across the island.

Projections indicate periods of showers and thunderstorms which may be heavy at times, along with strong gusty winds are expected to affect sections of most parishes especially in the southern and northwestern areas.

These conditions are expected to continue from this afternoon through to tomorrow evening.

Fishers and other marine interests should exercise extreme caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms, especially over southern waters.
