Five people remain in critical condition at the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital following Sunday’s fatal crash on the Fern Gully main road in St. Ann.
49-year-old Suzette Thomas a housekeeper of Wildman Street in Kingston died as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.
A senior member of staff at the St Ann’s Bay hospital told IRIE FM news that the five in critical condition are among the 12 remaining patients from the crash at the hospital.
He said of that 12, six are children.
In the meantime, he said 11 patients who were involved in the crash have been treated and released.
Police report that minutes to midday on Sunday, a 15 seater Nissan Caravan with 23 persons aboard crashed into an embankment.
It is reported that the right front Tyre of the vehicle blew out causing the driver to lose control of the motor bus, which collided with a stone wall and overturned.
It is understood that 16 children and 7 adults were travelling in the vehicle.
Two children and one adult were transferred to Kingston for treatment.
The passengers were travelling from Kingston and were heading to St Mary for a fun day when the crash occurred.
