Five men charged in connection with cocaine bust in Havendale remanded when they appeared in court today
The five men charged in connection with the $12 billion cocaine bust in Havendale, St Andrew were remanded when they appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew parish court today.
72-year-old Junior Haldane, 57-year-old Clive Davis, 42-year-old Clayton Peart, 58-year-old Collin Ricketts and George Sterling, all of Kingston are to return to court on October 9.
Parish judge Maxine Ellis also ordered that the men be medically examined.
They are facing charges of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, trafficking cocaine and conspiracy.
They were arrested on August 6 when the police raided a premises and seized several knitted bags of cocaine.
It was reported that approximately 2,600 kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of USD$75.79 million was found at the house.
Two motor vehicles were also seized during the three-hour operation.
The court was informed today that the laboratory is still testing the substance.
