A 40 year old fire fighter is in custody in relation to the murder of a 63 year old woman in Claremont, St Ann.

The deceased is Maxine Parkinson of Archer Hill in Claremont.

Head of the St Ann police Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell told Irie Fm news that Parkinson reportedly went missing on Tuesday.

He said searches were conducted and her body was found in bushes with head injuries.

The firefighter was arrested following investigations.

SSP Powell called on citizens who can assist with the investigation to contact them.
