Fire Brigade about 80% complete in clearing oil spill in Ironshore, Montego Bay
The Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) says about 80 per cent of an oil spill along the Ironshore road, in Montego Bay, St James this morning has been cleared.
The spill, which was reportedly caused by a truck at around 6 AM, spreads from the Whitter Village area to the Providence stoplight.
Providing an update to IRIE FM news, JFB’s Commissioner, Stewart Beckford says firefighters are using absorbent material to remove the oil.
Commissioner Beckford is urging motorists to reduce their speed while travelling in the area to prevent injury or death.
