Finance ministry and union representing academic Utech staff to meet over wage issues
The Finance ministry and the union representing academic staff at the University of Technology, Utech, are to meet this afternoon to address compensation related issues.
The academic staff at Utech, who are upset about delays in settling their compensation review proposal, took industrial action earlier this week.
The lecturers are reportedly withholding students’ grades for semester one.
The University of Technology Academic Staff Union (UTASU), which represents the lecturers, had reportedly been requesting talks with the government since may 2022, without success.
In an update on Thursday morning, President Dr. Clavery Allen confirmed that a meeting has been scheduled for Thursday.
