Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke has explained that most of the ongoing negotiations for public sector workers relate to benefits and allowances.

This is phase two of the compensation restructuring programme.

Responding to questions from the Opposition, Dr Clarke noted that negotiations relating to salaries under phase 1 are almost complete with only a few groups outstanding.

Dr Clarke also noted that the change in the budgetary allocation for compensation is a rebalancing act.
