Final counting of ballots in yesterday’s Local Government Election is underway
The final counting of ballots cast in yesterday’s Local Government Election is underway.
That’s according to the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ).
Last evening, the EOJ said based on preliminary results, the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) was ahead in 7 parish municipal corporations, while the People’s National Party (PNP) was ahead in 5.
Two corporations are tied. These are Kingston and St. Andrew, and Clarendon.
Director of Elections Glasspole Brown told IRIE FM News that the count remains the same.
Both the JLP and PNP have claimed victory in the election.
