Final ballot count for St Ann North East by-election to begin today
The final count of ballots cast in the North East St Ann by-election will begin today.
The returning officer will do the final count at the designated counting centre.
The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) reported yesterday, that at the end of the preliminary count, the Jamaica Labour Party’s Matthew Samuda polled 95 percent of the ballots.
Samuda got 4, 838 votes.
Independent candidate David Anderson got 222 votes which is 4 percent of the ballots.
While Chase Neil of the United Independents’ Congress, got 30 votes which is one percent of the ballots.
The EOJ indicated that yesterday’s estimated voter turnout was 11.6 percent.
The voters list has 43, 827 electors.
