Fifa Women’s World Cup Trophy in Jamaica
A delegation led by the minister of sports the hon Olivia ‘Babsy Grange, along with JFF President Michael Ricketts, will be on hand at the official unveiling of the Fifa Women’s World Cup Trophy at the Pegasus hotel later this morning.
The event gets underway at 9 ‘o’ clock.
Members of the public will get the chance to view the trophy up close and also meet some key stakeholders who will be on hand .
The world cup after its stop at the Pegasus will make its way to St. Jago High…….the former high school of reggae girl star striker and captain Khadija ‘bunny’ Shaw.
From there it will travel to Ocho Rios high in St Ann ….the former school of midfielder Jody Brown who now attends Florida State University, before making its final stop at Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay.
The Fifa Women’s World Cup Trophy will traverse the 32 countries qualified to take part at this year’s Women’s World Cup, which runs from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand.
The reggae girls are drawn in group ‘F’ where they will face Brazil, France and Panama .
