FIFA removes financial restriction on Jamaica Football Federation

The Jamaica Football Federation is today breathing a financial sigh of relief, following the removal of FIFA’s restrictive funding on Jamaica’s Football Programme.

The local governing body of football operated under five years of financial constraints, with limited funding and frugal spending, as FIFA kept close watch on the country’s finances, with regular audits.

The JFF currently receives $1 million us dollars annually, along with monies for additional project from FIFA, but is now set to receive greater economic support with the latest move by the global governing body of football .

FIFA head of Member Associations Finances Services Christoph Suppiger gave details during his revelation in a press conference this morning, while a satisfied president of the JFF Michael Ricketts says this move by FIFA is as a result of the strict internal governance procedure by the JFF.

Fifa is the largest financial contributor to the operations of the JFF, followed by Adidas, Several Corporate Sponsors, and the government.
