Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says the type 2 field hospital donated by the government of Barbados will be operational next week.

The facility is being erected on the grounds of the savanna-la-mar hospital in Westmoreland.

Speaking during a tour of the site yesterday, the minister said the services provided will be comprehensive.

In the meantime, Lieutenant Commander Anderson Goodridge of the Barbados Defence Force said the type 2 facility will be staffed by more than 60 personnel to ensure the health care needs of Jamaicans are fully supported.
