The female vendor who was captured on video carrying out an unsanitary act is facing prosecution.
The announcement was made during a press conference held by the St. James Municipal Corporation today.
Speaking at the briefing, Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon said the woman who was seen on video, apparently urinating in a bottle, has been selling the market for 10 years.
He noted however, that the incident did not happen at the market, as the woman was vending along the roadway.
The mayor explained that the Charles Gordon Market has the necessary bathroom and vending facilities.
Meantime, Medical Officer of Health for St. James, Dr. Francine Phillips Kelly said the woman breached the Public Health Act and is liable for prosecution.
