A female student of a prominent high school in the Corporate Area was shot and killed at her home in Smokey Vale St. Andrew during a suspected burglary this morning.

The name of the deceased has not been released, but she is believed to be around 18 years old.

Head of the St. Andrew North Police Superintendent Randy Sweeney told IRIE FM News that the incident occurred about 1:00 A.M.

He said investigations have commenced into the incident.

Superintendent Sweeney is urging anyone who might have information on the incident to contact the Constant Spring police station at 876-924-1421 or the police 119 emergency number.
