Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting death of a female security guard and the wounding of another woman at their home in Flower Hill, St. James on Sunday (March 17).

Dead is 36-year-old Nastacia Smith of Valley Heights Housing Scheme.

Reports from the Montego Bay police are that at about 3:30 PM, Smith and other family members were at home, when armed men entered the yard and opened gunfire at them through a bedroom window.

When the shooting subsided Smith and the other woman were discovered with gunshot wounds.

They were transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The wounded woman is admitted in serious condition.
