Fast-bowler Shamar Joseph is set to make a return to the West Indies fold

Fast-bowler Shamar Joseph is set to make a return to the playing eleven when the West Indies face off with South Africa in the second and final test tomorrow at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

The Guyanese pacer following his breakout debut against Australia at the start of the year has been having a less than impressive time after that only picking up a handful of wickets in the series against England which in which the ‘Windies were swept 3 nil.

He was left out of the drawn first test in Trinidad earlier this week.

However with fellow guyanese Gudakesh Motie going wicketless in that game Joseph who is yet to play an international at providence is expected to take his place leaving Jomel Warrican as the primary spinner.

West Indies coach Andre Coley says they are planning accordingly based on the expected conditions for this game.

Meanwhile, it’s understood that South Africa is considering benching Ryan Rickelton and choosing between left-armer Nandre Burger or an extra spinner in Dane Piedt to give them a 6-5 split for the game.
