Farmers encouraged to take more robust approach towards safeguarding crops so they can aid in export expansion
In an effort to boost the supply of crops available for the export market, Jamaicans are being encouraged to take a more robust approach towards safeguarding crops that could aid in export expansion.
According to Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator Aubyn Hill said there is a high demand for Jamaican produce but the country has a supply issue.
He said despite the challenge of praedial larceny, resources are available for farmers to secure their businesses.
Mr. Hill said Jamaica needs to significantly increase its level of exports if it is to grow the economy.
Senator Hill was speaking at the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Expo in St. James recently.
