Families severely affected by Hurricane Beryl to benefit from two-month cash grants
Families affected severely by Hurricane Beryl are to benefit from cash grants.
The grants, which are being provided through a partnership between the World Food Programme and the Social Security Ministry, will assist families in meeting their basic needs, especially for food over two months.
The value of the grants has not been disclosed.
Social Security Minister, Pearnel Charles Junior outlined the grant criteria during this morning’s post Cabinet press briefing.
He said disabled children and pregnant and lactating mothers on the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH), will also get special cash assistance and care packages.
This is being facilitated through a partnership with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
