Families living in abandoned cars among 6,000 Jamaicans living in the ‘absolute worst conditions’ – Holness
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says there are approximately 6000 people living in the ‘absolute worst conditions’ in Jamaica.
Mr. Holness says while the 2022 population and housing census has not yet been completed, other reliable data indicate that many Jamaicans are living in abandoned cars, among other sub-standard conditions.
He says it is important that social housing solutions, continue to be built for citizens who are in need.
He was delivering the keynote address at the Jamaica Mortgage Bank ribbon cutting at the Vineyards at Deanery in Kingston, this morning (March 27).
