The former police woman who is suspected to have committed suicide in Exchange, Ocho Rios, St. Ann, this morning, has been identified.

Dead is Alsania Flynch, who was previously assigned to the St. Mary police division.

It’s reported that she resigned from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, last year.

Reports are that at about 10 a.m., Ms. Flynch chartered a taxi and collected her gun from the Firearm Licensing Authority, FLA, office in Discovery Bay.

On the return trip, its reported that upon reaching in the vicinity of Hand to Mouth Street, an explosion was heard.

The woman was seen suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
