Entertainers Dovey Magnum and Devin Di Dakta are among several social media users encouraging PNP Member of Parliament for St James Southern, Nekiesha Burchell, to continue standing her ground.

The show of solidarity comes after JLP Member of Parliament for Trelawny Southern, Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert, criticized the PNP MP, accusing her of being disrespectful to House Speaker Juliet Holness and being part of a “new breed” of disruptive parliamentarians.

In a social media post, MP Nekiesha Burchell fired back, stating in part: “New breed? Thank you. If courage, conscience, integrity, and standing up for your people make me part of a ‘new breed,’ then I accept that label with pride.”

In the comments section, Dovey Magnum wrote, “Yes, don’t back down.”

Devin Di Dakta also showed support for the PNP MP, stating, “New Breed = A breath of fresh air. Now breathe.”
