“Enough is enough” declares Grange as she appeals for action against gender-based violence
“Enough is enough”…that declaration came from Gender Affairs Minister Olivia Grange, as she once more appealed for greater action to stop violence against women and girls.
The minister was presenting a statement to the lower house yesterday, in the wake of some recent horrific incidents.
These include the sexual assault and murder of 9 year old Kelsey Ferigon, the killing of Utech student Anisa Dilworth, and the assault of a UHWI nurse.
Ms. Grange outlined various initiatives that the government implemented over the years to intervene in situations where women and girls are exposed to violence, especially in domestic abuse situations.
She called for a united fight against gender-based violence.
The minister stressed that the fight against gender based violence must transcend politics.
