Elite Netball Action Returns: Red Stripe Flavours Elite Netball League begins Friday at Leila Robinson Courts

Top-tier domestic netball returns this week with the highly anticipated start of the Red Stripe Flavours Elite Netball League, kicking off Friday, June 27, at the Leila Robinson Courts with an exciting double-header that promises fast-paced action and fierce competition.

The opening match at 6:30 PM sees St. Catherine Racers, led by Sunshine Girl Abigail Sutherland, go head-to-head with a strong St. Ann Orchids team captained by Adean Thomas. The Orchids’ lineup also boasts national-caliber players Mischa Creary and Theresa Beckford, setting the stage for a high-quality showdown.

At 8:00 PM, the spotlight turns to Kingston Hummingbirds versus the JPS Shiners — the official Jamaica Under-21 squad. The Hummingbirds will be led by co-captains Khadijah Williams and Paula-Ann Burton, with support from key players like Leniece Williams, Tracy-Ann Francis, and Zonasha Hinds. On the other side, the young Shiners bring boasts Roxonna McLean, Kellian Hunter, and Tiana Reid, all of whom are looking to prove their mettle on the big stage.

The 2025 Red Stripe Flavours Elite Netball League will run until July 27, featuring five teams and 56 players, including two overseas-based talents — one competing in England and the other in Australia. The league showcases the best of local talent while preparing national prospects for international competition.

Manchester Spurs are the defending champions and feature the likes of Kimone Shaw, Alliyah Hibbert, and captain Zaudi Green.
