Elaine Thompson -Herah and Danielle Williams for Rome Diamond League
Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson -Herah and 2015 world Champion Danielle Williams headline a star-studded Jamaican cast set to compete at the Rome Diamond League on Thursday.
Thompson Herah- fresh from her 10.83 seconds outing in Morocco, will contest the women’s 200 meters where she faces compatriot Shericka Jackson, along with Olympic Champions Shauna Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas, American Alyson Felix, along with Marie Jose Talou of the Ivory Coast and reigning world champion Dina -Asher Smith of Great Britain.
Williams in the meantime, faces the starter alongside Olympic bronze medalist Megan Tapper and Olympic semi-finalist Brittany Anderson in the women’s 100 meters hurdles.
Commonwealth champion Janieve Russell and world championship bronze medalist Rushelle Clayton are down to face last year’s diamond league winner Femke Bol of the Netherlands and Shamair Little of the United States in the women’s 400 meter hurdles.
Olympic mile relay finalist Christopher Taylor, fresh from a season best 45.45 seconds done on Monday is the lone Jamaican in the men’s 400 meters, Nigel Ellis will race in the men’s 100 meters event, while Natoya Goule will suit up in the women’s 800 metres where
