The Education Ministry has activated its support mechanism to provide trauma and grief counselling to staff and students of the Jessie Ripoll primary school in Kingston, come next Monday, January 6.

This after principal O’Neil Stevens and his wife Camesha Lindsay Stevens were killed in a motor vehicle collision in South Carolina, USA yesterday.

In a statement Education Minister Senator Dr. Dana Morris Dixon expressed sadness at the tragic passing of Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, while extending condolences to their relatives and the school community.

She said the incident is a tragic start to the new Easter school term.
