The Education Ministry has revised its schedule for the start of the new school year due to the September 3 general election

In a release, the Ministry said on Monday September 1, schools will reopen as scheduled, for orientation and other administrative activities.

It said students who do not require orientation will not be asked to attend school on that day.

The Ministry said schools will be closed on Tuesday September 2 and election day, Wednesday September 3.

Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon said the full resumption of all schools will be on Monday September 8.
