Education Ministry reforming its pension process following concerns raised by retired staff

The Education Ministry is reforming its pension process due to concerns raised by retired staff.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Dr. Kasan Troupe made the statement at the Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Jamaica Association of Education Officers, yesterday.

Dr. Troupe said she has received complaints from retired workers about issues related to their pension.

She said she is committed to resolving the issue.

In the meantime, she assured education officers that progress is taking place within the Ministry.

Dr. Troupe said after more than a decade of failing to file its financial reports on time, the Ministry has already submitted its appropriation report for the 2024–2025 financial year.
