Education Minister reports improvement in performance of Grade 5 students in PEP exams this year compared to Grade 4

Students who took the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations in Grade 5 this year, performed noticeably better than they did in the Grade 4 exams.

This is according to Education Minister Fayval Williams.

She made the comment as she delivered a speech in Parliament yesterday.

The PEP examinations are conducted over three years, beginning in Grade 4, with results from each year averaged to create a composite score by the end of Grade 6.

In recent weeks, there have been renewed concerns about the exam’s complexity and its impact on students.

Despite this, Minister Williams stated that the 3 year assessment has effectively improved overall student performance.
