Education Minister Dr. Morris Dixon says Gov’t will implement a policy surrounding the renovation of staff rooms at public schools
Dr. Morris Dixon has given her commitment to public school educators that the Government will implement a policy aimed at renovating staff rooms at the institutions.
The Minister was speaking today at the Jamaica Teachers Association Annual Conference in Hanover.
Dr. Morris Dixon noted that the current state of many staff rooms is unacceptable, especially as it relates to temperature.
She said the renovations will include the installation of air conditioning units to combat the heat.
In response to a complaint from a teacher at the Davis Primary School in St. Catherine, about the lack of a staff room and deplorable class room furniture, Dr. Morris Dixon noted that the Government has $300 million available for school furniture.
