Edu Min still to decide on if schools will be open tomorrow
The education ministry says it is awaiting further updates on tropical storm Melissa to decide if schools will remain open tomorrow.
The Met Service says Jamaica is expected to begin experiencing the impacts of the storm as early as tomorrow, with rainfall expected to cover most of the island.
Speaking during a press briefing today Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon said over 700 of the nation’s schools are used as shelters.
She said schools must be prepared to shift to the online modality.
