Dujon hammers CWI for replacing Coley with Sammy
Former West Indies test great Jeffrey Dujon has slammed the decision by Cricket West Indies to replace Andre Coley with Daren Sammy as coach of the West Indies red ball team.
The move makes Sammy the West Indies all format coach starting on Aplril 1, after Coley closed out his tenure following the two test series in Pakistan which ended earlier this week.
In Tests, West Indies have lost eight matches, and won three while drawing two under Coley since May 2023, their high point being the pulsating eight-run victory against Australia in the Brisbane Test in January last year and most recently an emphatic 120 run win over Pakistan in Multan.
The legendary former West Indies wicket-keeper, who was speaking last evening on the Mason and Guest show in Barbados with Andrew Mason was also critical of the board’s decision to make the Chairmen of Selectors across the region scouts.
