Drivers of large vehicles reminded not to go through Fern Gully
The St Ann police are reminding drivers of large vehicles, especially trucks, that they are not allowed to go through Fern Gully.
The reminder follows an accident on Tuesday, in which a truck transporting paint crashed, resulting in a massive paint spill.
The roadway became impassable, until the following day, as teams from the national works agency and fire brigade spent several hours cleaning the area.
Speaking at Thursday‘s meeting of the St Ann Municipal Corporation, head of the division, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, reminded truck drivers to use the alternative routes.
He stressed that truck drivers who breach the order will be prosecuted.
