Driver who mowed down and killed woman in Ocho Rios over weekend to be questioned by police today

The driver of a motor vehicle which mowed down and killed a woman in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, over the weekend is to be questioned by police today.
Head of the St. Ann police, Superintendent Carlos Russell, provided the update to IRIE FM News.
He said the man is expected to be charged after the session.
The crash claimed the life of Claudette Thorpe of Petersfield District, St. Mary.
Reports are that about 6:10 A.M., on Saturday, June 13, the driver of a White Toyota Mark X motorcar lost control of the vehicle.
The car swerved erratically along the roadway, climbed the sidewalk where Thorpe was walking and hit her.
The vehicle then hit a wooden utility pole and came to a stop.
The man exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
His relatives later handed him over to the police.
