Dr Peter Phillips signals intent to leave representational politics
Former Leader of the Opposition and Member of Parliament for East Central St Andrew, Dr Peter Phillips, has officially signalled his intent to leave representational politics.
Doctor Phillips handed over the stewardship of his constituency on Saturday night, passing the baton to councillor of the Maxfield Division, Dennis Gordon.
Speaking at a candidate presentation ceremony at Norman Manley High school on Saturday night, Dr Phillips said he was pleased with how smoothly the process has gone in the constituency.
Mr Gordon was welcomed by current People’s National Party, (PNP), president, Mark Golding, who noted that he is the people’s choice.
