Dr. Donovan Bennet is the new Jamaica Cricket Asoociation boss
Challenger Doctor Donovan Bennett will lead the Jamaica Cricket Association for the next three years, after officially whipping the incumbent Walford ‘billy’ Heaven earlier today in a tense JCA election held in Kingston.
Bennett a first vice president in the outgoing administration, polled a massive 67 votes to heaven’s 30, thereby paving the way for a new direction with Bennett taking the reigns.
Some 97 delegates cast their votes, and gave Bennett the nod, which ended Heaven’s plan to remain the country’s cricket boss for a fifth-straight term.
Speaking after the elections bennett said he was humbled to have won and would begin working as of tomorrow morning.
The election which was originally scheduled for November of 2023, was put on hold due to a delay in the financial statements.
The audited financials were eventually presented paving the way for today’s elections.
