Minister of National Security Dr. Horace Chang has lauded the late Constable Ricardo Fairclough for his commitment to the Police Force mantra to serve and protect.

Constable Fairclough was shot and killed by armed robbers in St. Ann’s Bay, St. Ann on Monday.

He had observed a female vendor being robbed and intervened.

Both the cop and vendor were shot and taken to hospital where the policeman died and the vendor was admitted in critical condition..  

One of the alleged gunmen, Siraldo Butler also known as ‘Siri’ was fatally shot by police during an operation yesterday.

A search has been launched for other suspects.

In expressing condolences to the relatives and colleagues of Constable Fairclough, Dr. Chang commended the officer for his courage and dedication.

He urged the police force to do all that is required to nab the criminals involved.

He also urged members of the public with information on the murder of Constable Fairclough to contact the police.
