Dr. Andrew Holness is to be sworn in as prime minister next Tuesday, September 16.
This was indicated by King’s House in a media advisory this afternoon.
He will be sworn in by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen at the ceremonial lawn at King’s House.
The event is scheduled to begin at 4 PM.
Dr. Holness the Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), met Sir Patrick today, after the Electoral Office of Jamaica formally notified the Governor General yesterday, that the JLP won last Wednesday’s general election.
The EOJ gave the update to Sir Patrick, based on the official count which concluded on Sunday that showed the JLP winning 35 seats to the PNP’s 28.
