Discovery Bay/Brown’s Town taxi drivers withdraw services over lack of designated parking area
Taxi drivers operating between Discovery Bay and Brown’s Town in St. Ann, have withdrawn their services today, continuing their plea to the authorities for the establishment of a bus park in Discovery Bay.
The protest began as early as 7 this morning.
One operator shared with IRIE FM News that the area they park is not fit for use and this has been an issue for several years.
He expressed his frustration, noting that every area they attempt to use is only temporary, as they are asked to move frequently.
The driver also raised concerns about the poor road conditions.
He pointed out that the situation is also affecting the lives of students and business people in the area.
