Digicel reports 90% mobile coverage

Telecommunications company Digicel has reported that it now has 90 percent mobile coverage.

This means that about 2 million customers have been reconnected to the network, following disruptions caused by Hurricane Beryl.

The reconnection was achieved in just under a week since the category 4 storm ravaged sections of the country.

Significant coverage improvements are ongoing in hard-hit parishes-St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Hanover, and Clarendon.

Meantime, Digicel has reassured customers that they will get rebates this month for days that their data could not be used due to the hurricane.

And, Digicel has deployed mobile charging stations to affected communities so that customers can charge their devices.

Customers are also able to benefit from free top up credit and data.

Additionally, the Digicel Foundation has been involved in distributing care packages containing essential food items, hygiene products, and other necessities to support the immediate needs of residents and aid in the recovery process.
