DEVELOPING: Three firefighters hospitalized after receiving electric shocks while working in Greenwich Town, Kingston this morning
Three firefighters have been hospitalized after they suffered electric shocks while working to extinguish a house fire in Greenwich Town, Kingston this morning.
In confirming the incident, Commissioner of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Stewart Beckford said the fire crew responded to calls about the blaze at around 2:17 A.M.
He told IRIE FM news that six firefighters suffered shocks but three were hospitalized after they were found to be in a more serious condition.
The remaining three have sought medical attention at a private facility.
Commissioner Beckford said he is making his way to the hospital to get first-hand information about his workers’ well-being.
