Renowned drummer Desi Jones laid to rest

Family, friends, fans, and industry players today (June 3) bid their final farewell to acclaimed musician, Desi Jones

The funeral service was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral on North Street in Kingston.

Desi Jones, who was hailed as one of Jamaica’s most outstanding musicians, died suddenly on May 11.

He was 65.

A founding member of the band Chalice before forming the Skool Band, Desi Jones, toured extensively and recorded with the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Barrington Levy, Mutabaruka, Marcia Griffiths, jazz pianist Monty Alexander and guitarist Ernie Ranglin.
