Deaths of witnesses led to four men being freed of murder charges in St. Catherine Circuit Court yesterday
The deaths of two witnesses in a murder case, resulted in four men being freed of murder charges yesterday.
Teron Brown, Renaldo Cain, Damion Bailey and Narado Hibbert of St. Catherine addresses were freed when they appeared in the St. Catherine Circuit Court.
They were freed of the murder of Kevar Watson of Red Ground, near Old Harbour, St. Catherine.
The court was told that there was a third witness who was unwilling to testify, and the Crown could not proceed on the witness statements alone.
The Crown then offered no evidence in the matter and Justice Yvonne Brown freed the men.
Watson was chopped to death on December 31, 2012. His body was dismembered and buried.
Investigations by the police led to the arrests of the four men.
