Death toll from bus crash in st. Ann last month, rises to five
The death toll from the two bus collision along the Salem main road in Runaway Bay St. Ann on Sunday July 26, has risen to five.
This after another person who was hospitalized at the st. Ann’s bay regional hospital, died earlier this week.
Chief Executive Officer of the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, Dennis Morgan made the disclosure this morning (August 12).
This latest death follows the previous deaths of 38 –year–old bus driver Kermit Grant, 56-year-old Elizabeth Palmer, a 20 year old woman and another man who succumbed at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
Mr. Morgan said 7 patients remain hospitalised.
He reiterated that a shortage of blood has been hampering surgical procedures for the injured persons.
Mr. Morgan said the hospital has also been experiencing an increase in the backlog of other surgeries.
