Dawes calls for documents relating to drill acquisition to be released

The opposition is calling for proof of transactions in relation to the acquisition of a neurosurgical drill for the Bustamante Hospital for Children, to be provided.

This after Managing Director of Medical Technologies Limited, Athol Hamilton, yesterday rejected the opposition’s allegations that the company was involved in massive overpricing in the acquisition of the drill.

On Tuesday, Spokesman on Health Dr. Alfred Dawes held a press conference and raised more questions about the 31 million dollar drill.

Medical Technologies Limited has said claims made by Dr Dawes are false.

In a statement today, Dr. Dawes said the company must answer several questions.

He also called for the necessary documents to be released.

He also criticized the Health Ministry’s procurement system.
