David Warner to miss West Indies white ball tour
Explosive opener David Warner is expected to miss the white-ball portion of the West Indies Tour of Australia in February in an effort to maximize his T20 league availability following his test retirement in Sydney next week.
Warner has a deal with the dubai capitals in the ILT20, which runs from January 20 to February 18….while Australia is scheduled to play the West Indies in three one day internationals and three T20 internationals between February 2 and 13.
The 37 year old is also set to play in the Big Bash T20 for Sydney Thunder after his last test against pakistan……….although there remains some doubt as to whether he would be available for the final should Thunder qualify.
The three-match ODI series against west indies marks the start of a new four-year cycle towards the 2027 ICC World Cup, which would seem a long shot for warner, although he did float the notion of playing on to that event after Australia’s victory in India last month.
