Danielle Williams and Rushell Clayton for Stockholm Diamond League
2015 world 100 metre hurdles champion Danielle Williams is one of two Jamaicans down to compete at the Stockholm Diamond League meeting tomorrow in Sweden.
Williams, who finished third at the national senior championship in Kingston in 12.66 seconds, lines up in the women’s sprint hurdles, where she will face the Tokyo Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho -Quinn of Puerto Rico, and the 2019 World Champion Nia Ali of the United States.
The other Jamaican in action tomorrow……..World championship bronze medalist Rushelle Clayton……..will compete in the women’s 400 metres hurdles.
Speaking after qualifying for her second world championships on the weekend….Clayton told Irie Fm sports that she’s happy to have completed five races this season injury free.
Clayton will meet Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Femke Bol and the current world record holder Sydney McLaughlin, who broke her own world record of 51.46 seconds to set a new mark at 51.41 seconds at the recent U.S trials.
Meanwhile, world championship gold medalist Dina Asher Smith of Great Britain features in the women’s 200 metres, where she will meet the 60 metres indoor champion Mujinga Kambunji of Switzerland.
