Danielle Williams among 10 Jamaicans down to compete at the second Wanda Diamond League meet
Ten Jamaicans are down to compete at the second Wanda Diamond League meet of the season in Shanghai, China on Saturday following the withdrawal of 2011 world 100 metres champion Yohan Blake.
Olympic champion Hansle Parchment and World champion Danielle Williams heads the list of Jamaican participants for back to back weekends in China.
Parchment will contest the men’s 110 metre hurdles, while Williams will be in the women’s 100 metre hurdles alongside Olympic bronze medallist Megan Tapper.
That event also include world record holder Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico and World Indoor Champion Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas.
National champion Rohan Watson and World Championships finalist Akeem Blake are listed for the men’s 100 metre event, with Stephanie-Ann Mcpherson to compete in the women’s 400 metres.
Also down to be in action are Tajay Gayle and Carey Mcleod in the men’s long jump, Christoff Bryan in the men’s high jump, Aisha Praught-Leer the women’s 5000 metres and Danniel Thomas-Dodd in the women’s shot-put
