Dancehall Entertainer, Popcaan files claim against JCF over allegations made in July 6, press release
Dancehall Entertainer, Andrae ‘Popcaan’ Sutherland, has filed a claim against the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) arising from a press release issued by them on Wednesday, July 6.
The claim was filed in the Supreme Court this morning (July 8), after efforts to file were hindered yesterday, due to the absence of electricity at the court.
Speaking at a press briefing this morning, Popcaan’s Attorney, Bert Samuels said the claim addresses, what he has described, as two libellous statements made by the JCF.
The first statement is in relation to allegations of Popcaan being arrested for cocaine.
Mr. Samuels described the comment as a nasty falsehood.
The other comment, which addressed the 2009 marijuana possession conviction, was explained by another Attorney Bianca Samuels.
She explained further, that with the offence expunged in 2016, Popcaan has no criminal record regarding marijuana.
