Dancehall artiste Kiprich charged in relation to comments he made about criminal activity in a song
Dancehall artiste Kiprich has been slapped with charges relating to comments he made about criminal activity in a song.
Last week, Kiprich, along with 15 other men, had been listed as a person of interest by the St. Catherine North Police Division.
They were being sought because the police believed that the listed persons are able to assist them with investigations relating to several incidents in the parish.
Some social media users then shared an audio clip of a song purportedly by Kiprich, in which he can be heard speaking about the One Order gang and retaliation for the killing of one of the gang’s leaders.
Last evening, the Constabulary Force issued an update, indicating that the St. Catherine North C.I.B arrested and charged 45-year-old Marlon Plunkett, otherwise called Kiprich, a recording artiste of Kingston.
Plunkett is charged with use of audio, and audio-visual communication, to promote criminal activity.
He was charged after being questioned in the presence of his attorney.
He is scheduled to appear in the St. Catherine Parish Court later this month.
