Member of Parliament elect for Trelawny Southern Marisa Dalrymple Philibert has expressed appreciation to voters who voted to return her to the seat.

Dalrymple Philibert won yesterdays by election defeating independent candidate Lloyd Gillings.

Her return to the lower house follows her resignation last year amid controversy over a report from the Integrity Commission about the non-disclosure of some assets in her statutory declaration.

Speaking with reporters after her victory at the polls yesterday Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert acknowledged that the low voter turn out was due to some persons having to go about their regular work day routine. 

Meantime, Gillings said he will continue to serve the people of the constituency, despite the loss.
